How to Get Eevee in Pokémon GO

Eevee doesn’t have fixed spawn locations, so use the Nearby feature and check current events to find wild Eevee.

Start with a Wild Encounter

Tap a wild Eevee to open the catch screen. Before your first catch, look for its silhouette in Nearby.

Check Other Encounter Sources

Check current announcements for Eevee encounters or research rewards. Older event rewards may no longer be available.

Catch More Than One

Save extra Eevee for evolutions. Each costs 25 Candy; some also need buddy progress or a special Lure.

Where to Find Eevee in Pokémon GO

Use Nearby, event announcements, weather, and recent sightings to decide where to look. Check these clues before traveling.

Check Nearby Pokémon

Look for Eevee in Nearby and check its linked PokéStop while the encounter is still available.

Check Current Events

Check current announcements for featured Eevee spawns or research encounters.

Watch for Partly Cloudy Weather

Partly Cloudy weather boosts Normal-type Pokémon, including Eevee, but does not guarantee a spawn.

Check Reports Before Traveling

Use fresh local reports rather than old coordinates. Wild Eevee can disappear before you arrive.

How to Catch Eevee: Balls, Berries & Throws

Tap a wild Eevee, then choose your Ball and Berry. Follow these steps to make each throw count.

01

Choose Your Poké Ball

Start with a Poké Ball. If Eevee keeps escaping, try a Great Ball or Ultra Ball when available.

02

Pick the Right Berry

Use Razz Berries for easier catches, Pinap Berries for extra Candy, or Nanab Berries to calm Eevee’s movements.

03

Land a Controlled Throw

Wait for Eevee’s attack to finish. Spin the ball for a Curveball and aim inside the colored ring.

04

Check the Result

After a breakout, check whether you need another Berry. Once caught, favorite any Shiny or special Eevee.

How to Get Shiny Eevee in Pokémon GO

Shiny Eevee has silvery fur. Tap each Eevee to check its color and sparkles; its map appearance stays normal.

Check Each Encounter

Check your own encounters. Another Trainer’s Shiny Eevee does not guarantee yours will be Shiny.

Catch a Shiny Manually

Wild Shiny Eevee can flee. Catch manually to choose an Ultra Ball and Golden Razz Berry when available.

Watch for Eevee Events

Eevee events may offer more encounters. Only expect boosted Shiny odds when officially announced.

Keep It Shiny After Evolution

Shiny Eevee stays Shiny after evolving. Favorite it, then confirm your chosen evolution before spending Candy.

Eevee CP & IVs: What Should a Beginner Keep?

CP means Combat Power. IVs are individual Attack, Defense, and HP stats. Use Appraise to compare Eevee before spending Stardust.

Use the Appraise Button

Open Eevee’s menu and tap Appraise. Three full stat bars mean perfect IVs.

Do Not Judge by CP Alone

High CP does not mean perfect IVs. Choose your planned evolution before investing in power-ups.

Collect Eevee Candy

Pinap Berries double Candy on a successful next catch. Buddy walking and transferring unwanted Eevee also earn Candy.

Favorite Before Transferring

Favorite Shiny, costume, and high-IV Eevee. Save extras for different evolutions instead of evolving your first catch immediately.

How Many Eevee Evolutions Are There in Pokémon GO?

Eevee has eight evolutions, each costing 25 Candy. Without special conditions or an unused nickname trick, you randomly get Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon.

Check the Evolve button: a question mark means random. For a specific form, meet its requirements and confirm the preview first.

Eevee in Pokémon GO: Beginner FAQs

  • 1. Why can’t I find Eevee in Pokémon GO?

Spawns vary with Seasons and events. Check Nearby and current announcements. Incense and ordinary Lures attract Pokémon, but cannot target Eevee specifically.

  • 2. Should I use a Razz Berry or a Pinap Berry for Eevee?

Use Razz to improve catch chances or Pinap for extra Candy. A regular Pinap does not make catching easier. Check the active Berry after each breakout.

  • 3. Can I choose which Pokémon Eevee evolves into?

Yes. Meet your chosen form’s requirements and check the evolution preview. Each nickname trick works once per account; 25 Candy alone cannot select any form.

  • 4. Does catching more Eevee guarantee a Shiny?

No. More encounters offer more chances, but no set number guarantees a Shiny Eevee. Check official event details for any boosted odds.
