Collect More Free Max Particles with AnyTo, Win More Max Battles
As an avid Pokémon GO trainer since 2016, I’ve seen countless features come and go. Some have been fun gimmicks, while others completely changed the way we play. Max Particles (often shortened as MP) belong to the latter group. When Niantic introduced Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, suddenly Max Particles became a core resource we cannot ignore.
In this guide, I’ll break down everything I’ve learned about Max Particles: what they are, how to collect them, how to spend them wisely, and even how to manage your storage when you hit the cap.

In this article:
What Are Max Particles in Pokémon GO?
Max Particles are a special type of in-game currency tied to the Dynamax and Gigantamax features. Think of them as the “fuel” you need to trigger Max Battles or unlock Max Moves for your Pokémon.

Here’s why they matter:
- Every time you want to enter a Max Battle, you must spend MP. If you don’t have enough, you’ll be locked out even if the raid pops up nearby.
- MP is also required to unlock and train Max Moves. For example, teaching your Pokémon Max Strike or Max Guard consumes a chunk of Max Particles alongside Candy and XL Candy.
In other words, without Max Particles, Dynamax is basically unplayable. They are the energy that keeps the feature alive.
How to Get Max Particles in Pokémon GO?
Over the past few months, I’ve tested every available method to maximize my MP income. Here’s what I’ve found works best:
1 Visit Power Spots
Power Spots are special locations glowing with energy on the map. When you tap them, you collect Max Particles. The first time you visit a new Power Spot, you’ll usually get 120 MP. On repeat visits, the standard reward drops to 100 MP.
For me, building a daily route around a few Power Spots is the most reliable way to farm. Even two or three spots can make a big difference when done consistently.

2 Walk to Earn MP
If you’re already familiar with Adventure Sync rewards, you’ll love this mechanic. Every 2 km you walk and claim through the Power Spot tab gives you 300 MP. That’s huge compared to what a single Power Spot offers.
When I first discovered this, I realized my morning jog wasn’t just for eggs and Buddy Candy anymore—it’s also one of the fastest ways to stockpile Max Particles.

3 Complete Research Tasks
Certain Special or Timed Research lines occasionally offer Max Particles as a reward. These aren’t as common, but if you play events actively like I do, you’ll end up with a steady trickle of extra MP without even thinking about it.

4 Buy Max Particle Packs
If you’re in a rush, you can grab Max Particle Packs from the in-game shop or Pokémon GO Web Store. These bundles bypass the daily cap, so they’re great if you’re preparing for a Max Battle event. Personally, I save this option for big events like GO Fest or when I know I’ll need extra MP in a short window.

Understanding the Daily and Storage Limits
Here’s something that confused me at first. There are two separate limits:
- Daily Cap: You can collect up to 800 MP from standard sources per day, reset at 5 a.m. local time.
- Storage Cap: You can hold up to 1,500 MP at once.
Once you hit the storage cap, you won’t collect more until you spend some. I’ve made the mistake of walking 4 km only to realize I was already full—don’t repeat that error.

How to Use Max Particles in Pokémon GO?
So you’ve collected a nice stash of MP. What’s the best way to spend it? Based on my experience, there are two main uses:
1 Enter Max Battles
To challenge a Dynamax or Gigantamax raid, you must pay with Max Particles. The good news is you only spend them if you actually win the battle. That means failed attempts won’t drain your stash completely, but you’ll still want to enter prepared.

2 Unlock and Train Max Moves
Max Moves are unique to Dynamax Pokémon. They come in three categories: Max Strike, Max Guard, and Max Spirit. Unlocking them requires not only Max Particles but also Pokémon Candy and XL Candy.
For example, when I upgraded my Dragonite with Max Strike, I spent hundreds of MP plus Candy. The result was worth it: in raids, it hits harder than almost anything else I own.

My advice: always prioritize unlocking Max Moves for Pokémon you actually use in battles or raids. Don’t waste your MP on novelty picks unless you have an excess supply.
How to Get Rid of Max Particles in Pokémon GO?
This might sound odd at first—why would you want to get rid of a valuable resource? But when you’re at the storage cap, any MP you earn beyond that is essentially wasted. I’ve had multiple days where my walking rewards disappeared into the void because I forgot to spend first.
Here’s how I manage overflow:
- Spend on Max Battles frequently: Even if you don’t desperately need the rewards, burning MP keeps your storage from capping.
- Preemptively unlock Max Moves: If you know you’re close to full, pick a strong raid attacker and invest in its Max Moves.
- Avoid hoarding: I used to think I should save MP for a future event, but I ended up wasting more than I saved. Now I spend regularly and replenish later.
By treating Max Particles like Stardust—always flowing in and out—I’ve stopped worrying about waste.
[Bonus] Free Max Particle Farming with AnyTo
Now let me share a trick that completely changed the way I collect MP. I live in a suburban area where Power Spots are few and far between. At first, I felt handicapped compared to city players who had dozens within walking distance.
That’s when I started using AnyTo, a location changer that lets me teleport to different spots in Pokémon GO.

- Jump to cities with dense clusters of Power Spots.
- Set a walking route virtually and let the app simulate my movement, collecting MP without leaving home.
- Farm during special events in regions I could never realistically travel to.
Best of all, it’s free to try. I still combine this with real-world walking to hit the 300 MP rewards, but with AnyTo I’ve doubled or even tripled my daily MP intake compared to before.
If you’re serious about Dynamax battles but stuck in a low-density area, this is hands down the easiest way to level the playing field.
Steps to use AnyTo:
Step 1: Download and install AnyTo. You can either download the PC version to change the location on your iOS/Android device via computer, or get the mobile app version to modify your location directly.
Step 2: Once installed, enter coordinates or a place name in the search bar and change your location with one click.

Step 3: You can also use the special game features to find nearby raids, Pokémon, PokéStops, and more.

Conclusion
Max Particles are no longer optional—they are the backbone of Dynamax and Gigantamax play in Pokémon GO. To recap:
- You collect them mainly through Power Spots, walking, research rewards, and shop bundles.
- You spend them on entering Max Battles and unlocking Max Moves.
- You manage them carefully to avoid hitting the storage cap and wasting rewards.
- And if you want to farm them at scale, tools like AnyTo can give you access to more Power Spots than your local area ever could.
As someone who has been grinding these particles since their release, I can confidently say that learning to balance collection and spending is the secret to staying ahead. If you apply the strategies in this guide, you’ll never find yourself locked out of a Max Battle again.
Now the next time your friend asks, “How do you always have enough Max Particles?” you’ll have the answer—and maybe even a little extra to spare.
